Welcome to the official website of one of the finest dental college in India. Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies also known as IDST Dental College was founded by Late Padmshree L.K Gandhi in the year 2000.

IDST Dental College is approved by the Dental Council of India and is affiliated to Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

Organizational Agenda

IDST Dental College emphasizes broad objectives for the effective use of health resources to advance the oral health. These objectives are to Improve our knowledge of what works and what does not work to prevent or treat oral health problems. Reduce disparities in oral health status and services experienced by disadvantaged economic, racial, and other groups. Encouraging prevention at both the individual level (e.g., feeding practices that prevent baby-bottle tooth decay, reduced use of tobacco) . Promote attention to oral health (including the oral manifestations of other health problems) not just among dental practitioners but also among primary care providers, geriatricians and educators. Events

The entire program was successfully conducted under the superintendence of Mrs Asha Gandhi (Chairperson, DMET), Dr Vikram Gandhi (Secretary, DMET), Dr Shalu Rai (Principal).

On the occasion of World Oral Health Day (20th March 2022), Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, Department of Periodontology and Department of Public Health Dentistry, Institute of Dental Studies & Technologies, Kadrabad, Modinagar in association with their respective Speciality National Societies (IAOMR, ISP and IAPHD) organised the following activities from 21st to 28th March, 2022:

School Oral Health Awareness and Oral Health Screening Camp at Primary School, Gadana.
Oral Health Screening Camp at Village Khanjanpur.
Oral Health Screening Camp for potentially malignant disorders at Mahenderpuri, Modinagar.
Oral Cancer Awareness Camp at IDST, Modinagar.
Perio-Systemic Diabetes Link Awareness and Screening Camp at IDST, Modinagar.
Lecture of Importance of Oral Health for staff and students of IDST.

All the patients were educated regarding importance of oral health, they were briefed about the bidirectional relationship between periodontal diseases and diabetes along with early prevention and prompt diagnosis of Oral Cancer and other potentially malignant disorders. Bilingual pamphlets which educated the patients regarding maintenance of good oral hygiene along with free samples of toothbrush, toothpaste and medicines were distributed.

Exemplary execution of the entire event was done by Dr Shalu Rai (Professor & Head, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology), Dr Manish Khatri (Professor & Head, Department of Periodontology), Dr Shilpi Singh (Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with Dr Deepankar Misra (Professor, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology ), Dr Mansi Bansal (Professor, Department of Periodontology).
The staff and Post Graduate Students actively participated in the above activities and extended helpful hands in successful conduction of World Oral Health Day Celebrations.

Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, IDST celebrated “National Orthodontist Day” on 5th October 2021 by organizing a webinar on ‘An Insight to Invisalign’ by Dr. Neha Gupta, Clinical support Specialist at Align Technology. Dr Achint Juneja, Professor & Head, Dept of Orthodontics introduced the speaker and proposed vote of thanks.

The webinar was attended by Dr Shalu Rai, Principal, Dr Nidhi Agarwal, Vice Principal, Dr Gaurav Mittal, Incharge PG Studies, Heads of all Departments, faculty members and orthodontic postgraduate students.

White Coat Ceremony was organized at Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies on 5th August 2021 for Third year BDS batch 2018-22 as they set their foot into clinics. The program initiated with auspicious lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana followed by speech by Dr Gaurav Mittal, Principal and Dr Nidhi Agarwal, Vice principal who elaborated on the essence of white coat. Students pledged the Hippocratic oath and received respective batches. The event was also graced by Dr Shalu Rai, Incharge PG studies and all department heads.

On the occasion of Teacher’s day, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, IDST organised a Teacher’s training program on “6th Sep 2021” for all the faculty members.The guest speaker for the occasion was Dr Neeraj Gugnani, Professor-Department of Pediatric Dentistry, DAV dental college,Yamunanagar who spoke on the topic “Small Changes can make us good teacher’s, let’s awaken a sleeping giant in us.” Respected Principal ma’am Dr Shalu Rai (Head of the Department- Oral medicine and Radiology) gave a brief introduction about the college and spoke about the need for teacher’s training. Respected Vice-Principal ma’am Dr Nidhi Agarwal (Head of the Department – Paediatric and preventive Dentistry) introduced the guest speaker. The speaker gave insightful information about teaching -learning process.

Dr Neeraj Gugnani was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation and vote of thanks was proposed by CDE Convener, Dr Rishi Manan (Head of Department Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics).

Dept of Periodontology conducted sensitization lecture on ‘Sterilization, Disinfection and Waste Management’ for Final year undergraduate students on 17th August 2021.The speaker Dr Abhishek Rathi, Reader, Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery highlighted the significance, principles and protocol of asepsis and waste management. Dr Manish Khatri, Professor & Head, Dept of Periodontology felicitated the speaker with certificate of appreciation.
